Yamaha Marine Group Presented with 2011 Neptune Award from Marine Marketers of America

KENNESAW, Ga., November 30, 2011 — Yamaha Marine Group announced today the Marine Marketers of America has recognized Yamaha with a Neptune Award for marketing communication excellence in the Best National Magazine/Advertising Series category. This year marks the fourth anniversary of the Neptune Awards. Since the award’s inception, Yamaha Marine Group has entered campaigns twice and won both entries.

“We are honored to receive a 2011 Neptune Award,” said Dale Barnes, Division Manager, Marketing, Yamaha Marine Group. “The purpose of these ads was to really demonstrate how these outboards work in real-world situations and the pros featured in them understand what it means to depend on an outboard, and that these outboards deliver maximum performance every time they are on the water. “

Overall, there were a total of 60 entries in 14 categories, representing the largest field in the history of the Neptune Awards.

“There was great diversity – entries came from companies large and small, sail and power, from insurance to fishing,” said Wanda Kenton Smith, President of MMA.  “The standard of work overall was very high, and this was the toughest competition yet.”

Yamaha Marine’s award-winning print ad series included three entries; one highlighting the game-changing V Max SHO®, a second spotlighting the formidable V6 offshore outboards, and a final ad promoting the lightweight F70 four-stroke outboard. 

The V MAX SHO® ad and the V6 offshore ad both featured strong endorsements from Yamaha pro anglers Dave Wolak and Rick Murphy, and also included QR Code® allowing the viewers to view a demo of each outboard on the spot. 

The F70 ad featured a powerful quote from Steve Pennaz, host of North American Fishing Television, and spoke directly to the versatility, efficiency and power associated with the outboard.
